Adding the titleBegin by importing the 3 words |

Vegas Preferences For the animated words we want to turn off looping in preferences, this allows us to have the last frame frozen when we drag out a word. This is exactly what we want for the word animations since it will keep the completed word on screen as the next words write. |

| Right click on the imported items in the project window and set their properties. | ![]() |

Add three tracks for the word animations. Place them one after another and drag out the ends until they reach the end of the composition.

|||
Move the timeline cursor to the end of the composition and then back one frame. The words are all written out on top of each other, the next step is to position them with track motion. |

| Click the Track Motion button on the "Our" word animation. | ![]() |

This is the default track motion setup window. |

Set all 4 buttons at the top on, these are 'Lock aspect ratio', 'Scale about center', 'Prevent scaling X' and ' Prevent scaling Y'. Ensure the 'Sync Cursor' button is off. Now simply drag the square box to the left to position the word to the right, you can also move it up and down. Repeat for the other two words.

| Open the track motion for the word. | ![]() |

| In the track motion window select the one and only position keyframe, then right click and choose 'Copy'. | ![]() |
|||
| Now open the Track Motion for the pen (our_pen.mov), select the position keyframe and choose 'Paste'. | ![]() |
|||
The pen now has the same position as the word it is writing. Repeat for the remaining two pen animations. |

| 'Pen.tga' is a still image of the gold pen and can be imported for use in filling in the gap between words that are spaced far apart. Use track motion with keyframes to animate it. Position it at the end of a word, move the timeline cursor to the start of the next word and set a second keyframe, then you have the pen smoothly moving between words. | ||||
Particle EffectThe Particle Effects are a slightly longer duration than the word or pen. This allows them to fade out gradually as the next word begins to write. If you are adding both pen and particle effect then we advise you to have the pen track higher that the particle effect (as shown here), to avoid the nib of the pen obscuring the effect. |
